Leonardo Da Vinci Exhibition “Science before Science”
On the occasion of the 500th anniversary of Leonardo Da Vinci’s death the Scuderie del Quirinale, in collaboration with the National Museum of the Science and the Technology in Milan and the Veneranda Ambrosiana Library, they propose a show devoted to the famous humanist “Leonardo Da Vinci. Science before science”, scheduled from March 13 to June 30.
Leonardo Da Vinci Exhibition: Introduction
The exhibition shows the work of Leonardo Da Vinci according to the museographic and museologic guidelines in the inclinations linked to the history of the thought, engineering and scientific-technological culture.
The exhibition retraces the whole work of Leonardo on the technological and scientific front, beginning from the Tuscan formation to the late Roman period, making to emerge the cultural bond with his own contemporaries.
Here all the subjects linked to the humanistic and technical thought addressed by Leonardo, that were to the center of the debate between the Renaissance technologists and artists, will be analyzed: the use of the sketch and the perspective as means of knowledge and representation, the desire to create fantastic cars as those for the flight, the reflection on the ideal city and the study of the streets of water, the art of the war between tradition and innovation, the development of cars for the great yards of construction, the rediscovery of the classical world and a reflection on how, over time, was born and developed the myth of Leonardo Da Vinci.
