BORN INVISIBLE. PHOTOGRAPHIC EXHIBIT OF WORKS BY SHEILA MCKINNON

July 29th, 2014

BORN-INVISIBLE_ENG

By using a technique of artistic expression that is one of a kind, McKinnon has developed her work by elaborating a creative process in which every image can be transformed to become a significant representation of thousands of lives. The artist discovers “new ways to see” the images without abandoning the potential of the compositional content. McKinnon uses colour in a figuratively alluring manner, like a decoy to attract our attention towards the central subject: the life of the figure in the frame. A selection of fifty photographs and a video presentation are displayed for this exhibit at the Museo di Roma in Trastevere to represent the heredity of silence, the inaudible presence of voiceless girls and women; neglected souls and beings whose fates are sealed without their consent.

EPVS IT’S MY WAY

July 22nd, 2014

EPVS has conceived this exhibition as a dreamlike journey among the qualities of the female body, complex dynamics of the plot and the biological evolution of artificial nature. The exhibit’s outfitting maintains the identity of an evocative tour split into sensorial stages, a crossing that connects vision to the empathetic experience with the work according to narrations that communicate with the space and involve spectators in an inclusive manner. The exposition’s project is curated by Gianluca Marziani and is located in different areas of the Carlo Bilotti Museum – Villa Borghese’s ...

ILMETAFORMISMO

July 15th, 2014

The magnificent halls of Rome’s Chiostro del Bramante are hosting a Review of  Il Metaformismo featuring 60 works of contemporary Italian art in the specific areas of painting and plastic arts. The registered trademark ILMETAFORMISMO ©2010 is a reading code whose aim is to interpret the artistic messages of contemporary abstract art through the expressive forms characterizing it: so far, the concept of figure has always been confused with the concept of shape as stated by Giulia Sillato. The fact that abstract art presents no figures does not mean that it is ...

Rome’s National Gallery of Modern Art is presenting The Form of Seduction. The Female Body in Art of the 1900s, an exhibition that hosts a selection of about 130 works from the museum’s collections. ARRIGO MUSTI – IMPOP

July 1st, 2014

This exhibit of works by Arrigo Musti, curated by Lorenzo Canova, is a triumph of colours filled with meaning that represent a visionary interpretation of our time – a time still capable of producing new artistic trends which do not neglect a personal reflection on society and understand its inclinations and contradictions. Works on display at Villa Torlonia are site-specific installations for the most part and were conceived by the artist for the halls at the Casina delle Civette museum. His art alludes to a contemporary world which is increasingly globalized and ...
