ANDREA VIVIANI. RITMI INSTABILI (UNSTABLE RHYTHMS)
Andrea Viviani’s exhibit presents about fifteen stem sculptures and several installations created specifically for the Casina delle Civette in Rome’s Villa Torlonia Museum. Ceramic art always carries the memory of an artist’s manual skills – moulding, lathing and baking – and Andrea Viviani uses the volcanic struggle between the elements to embed the surface of his works with chromatic effects and opalescent and translucent reflections, marks and streaks, scratches, knots and copper plating in colours ranging from gold and reddish brown to light blue and purple. Andrea Viviani focuses his attention on nature and uses his intuition and observation of the surrounding environment as the core of his analysis of the poetic and profound world which is capable of perceiving the law of chaos, instability as well as the unforeseen and irregular.
