LUDOVICA GIOSCIA. Forecasting Ouroboros
Ludovica Gioscia, the volcanic Italian-born artist who lives and works in London has created wallpaper made out of many different materials, nuances and designs for the walls of Rome’s Macro museum. The collage gradually falls apart through its rips and tears – emblematizing the very nature of our society’s visceral obsessive-compulsive consumerism seen as the purchase and prompt attrition of any item. A jubilee of glam colours and a vast repertoire of visuals and materials (purchased, gathered and catalogued by the artist herself) that earnestly expresses our spellbound fascination with the yearning to collect things. It is all destroyed by a simple, banal gesture charged with profound meaning. This very young artist already has a monographic book/ catalogue to her name and a collaboration with the equally splendid fashion designer Stella Mc Cartney.
