LOUISE NEVELSON
Louise Berliawsky Nevelson was an American sculptress of Russian origin who holds a prominent place in the realm of 20th century avant-garde sculpture along with Duchamp, Picasso and Schwitters. Over 70 works of this magnificent artist will be on display: from her sketches and works in pottery dating back to the 1930’s and the assemblage in painted wood from the 1950’s to the masterpieces produced in the 1960’s -70’s up to her most mature, defining works created in the 1980’s. These works arrive on loan from the most important national and international collections. This exhibition is promoted by the Fondazione Roma and presented by the Fondazione Roma-Arte-Musei with Arthemisia Group – in collaboration with the Nevelson Foundation in Philadelphia and Milan’s Fondazione Marconi.
