A tribute the city of Rome is making to one of its illustrious guests: Carla Accardi was born in Sicily in 1924 but is Roman by adoption (since World War II). This tribute is intended to reflect upon her exemplary model and coherency in sixty years of artistic production. This is not only an anthological exhibition; it is – above all – an original interpretation of the artist’s lesser known works: installation and the comparison with the environment.
The exhibit is a collection of works, many of which come from the artist’s personal archive and have never been seen by the general public. One of these is a small group of precious cards that are being displayed for the first time. Another feature of the exhibit is a selection of works from public and private collections that are equally as rare and not easily viewed
