“Cobra e l’Italia” (Cobra and Italy) is one of the most anticipated exhibitions, presented by the Soprintendenza of the National Gallery of Modern and Contemporary Art in collaboration with Academies of Belgium, Holland and Denmark. Artists from these countries founded the CoBrA group in 1948. Its name is an acronym of the initials of the three cities of Copenhagen, Brussels and Amsterdam. The exhibit is divided into two sections. The first focuses upon works by Jorn, Appel and Corneille at Albisola with special attention to a comparison between works by Jorn and the Nuclear Art of Baj and Dangelo. The second section focuses upon the Italian periods of Vandercam, Wyckaert, Alechinsky, Van Lint and Doucet.
