EGOSUPEREGOALTEREGO. VOLTO E CORPO CONTEMPORANEO DELL’ARTE (FACE AND BODY IN CONTEMPORARY ART)
The exhibit explores the face and body in contemporary art with particular focus upon the face and body of the artist who his representing him/herself or is being represented by others. Works on display offer this analysis through the self-portraits of such artists as Vito Acconci, Franco Angeli, Giorgio de Chirico, Plinio De Martiis, Stefano Di Stasio, Giosetta Fioroni, Gilbert&George, Francesco Guerrieri, Urs Luthi, Carlo Maria Mariani, Bruce Nauman and Cristiano Pintaldi. Works in which artists are “portrayed” by other artists can be seen in the photographs of Claudio Abate, Marco Delogu, Mimmo Iodice and Nino Migliori. There are also works on exhibit in which artists are not representing themselves but another celebrity and yet they found a way to portray themselves nonetheless as we can note in works by Ennio Calabria, Candy Candy, Giacinto Cerone, Mariana Ferratto, Luigi Ontani, Luca Maria Patella, Arnulf Rainer, Sissi, Sten and Lex.
