The “morsels of art”, as Luigi Ontani suggests, are the result of a component of an experimental format proposed by Rai3 in 2016. A brief consideration of the meaning of art gives the exhibit its title “I think art is”. The thoughts expounded were inspired by what is known in journalistic and television terms as “vox populi” or the words of people interviewed on the street during a survey researching their general mood. The “morsels” therefore take off from the objective of reaching the general public although the opinions are presented in a variety of ways – ranging from 20-35 seconds of questions and answers to the more theatrical, glamorous approach of a performance presentation. About sixty people (including artists, critics, journalists, writers, actors, art dealers as well as others who are in no way related to the art world) were asked the same question which has become not only catchphrase but a testimonial repeated and passed among the people: “I think that art is…”.
