Big Bamboo, the huge installation by American artists Mike and Doug Starn and recipient of the 2012 Enel Contemporanea award, is on display at Rome’s MACRO Testaccio until 27 February. The exhibit is one of the most prestigious international appointments in the world of contemporary art. Doug and Mike Starn are identical twins who have been working together for over twenty years, focusing mainly upon conceptual art and photography. Their works are conceived as original organic structures in evolution and can be seen in many public and private collections all over the world. Such important museums and galleries as New York’s MoMA, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Guggenheim Museum, Melbourne’s National Gallery of Victoria, the Yokohama Museum of Art in Japan and the Maison Européenne de la Photographie in Paris have hosted their works.
