1861 The Painters of the Renaissance – Scuderie del Quirinale – Rome
The halls of the Scuderie del Quirinale will host a great exhibition for the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy. The works on display illustrate how Italian painting between 1859 and 1861 represented the events that led our country to independence and national unity, many artists painted the most decisive battles such as Gerolamo Induco who portrayed the “Battle of the Chernay” (La Battaglia della Cernia) at which he took part. Other artists will immerse guests in Italy’s history of Unification: Giovanni Fattori, Giuseppe Molteni, Francesco Hayez, Domenico and Gerolamo Induno, Odoardo Borrani, Federico Faruffini, Giuseppe Sciuti, Silvestro Lega, Eleuterio Pagliano and Michele Cammarano.
