THE WONDERS OF ANCIENT AND MODERN ROME

A beautiful collection of ancient sketches of the city Rome, drawn between the 16 ^th century and the late 18 ^th century will be on display at Palazzo Venezia . These masterpieces illustrate ancient monuments and scenes of the Eternal City that are both well known and un-heard of. The Codice Membranaceo will also be on display in 51 large panels representing the relief of Trajan’s Column attributed to Jacopo Ripanda. Scrolls by renaissance painter and architect Pirro Logorio are spectacular: portraying monuments, statues and ancient relics such as the reconstruction of Trajan’s Port and the design of the Belvedere Courtyard . There are several multi- media installations at the exhibit that will offer guests sensorial experiences.
