’77 UNA STORIA DI QUARANT’ANNI FA NEI LAVORI DI TANO D’AMICO E PABLO ECHAURREN (A STORY OF FORTY YEARS AGO IN WORKS BY TANO D’AMICO AND PABLO ECHAURREN)
The exhibit is a portrait of humankind, of the facts and events of the year 1977 – the story of a generation and of a country as narrated by the works of one of Italy’s greatest photographers and one of the most fascinating artists on the contemporary art scene. Artistic and cultural experimentation became the common practice and the language of the general public after 1977 – for the first time in history. These are the elements which have inspired the choices of the works on display by these two remarkable talents, the photographer Tano D’Amico and the artist Pablo Echaurren, based on their personal, political and artistic history which left its mark on their creative forms of expression developed around the 1977 movement. Three theme-related seminars with journalists, historians, art historians and the main players of the “movement” are also scheduled during the exhibit. Moreover, there will also be a screening of the film Indiani Metropolitani written by Claudia Salaris and directed by Antonella Sgambati.
