AFFINCHÉ TUTTI LO SAPPIANO (SO THAT ALL SHALL KNOW)
Most of the photographs on exhibit are part of So That All Shall Know/Para que todos lo sepan, the anthology of Daniel Hernández-Salazar’s work published in 2007 by the University of Texas Press. These images represent the three pillars upon which the photographer bases most of his artistic creations: documentation of the facts and history and – as a result of these two processes, his political action and existential response to life. As a photo reporter, Hernández-Salazar experienced the painful history of his native land first-hand during the 1980s and has dedicated his entire career to the theme of “Life and Death” in Guatemala since the 1990s.
The exhibition was designed to present a portion of Daniel Hernández-Salazar’s work and part of the creative process he draws upon to capture, reflect upon and express his concerns and those of his homeland.
