LAPIDARIUM
Lapidarium is a monumental installation of contemporary sculpture created by Mexican artist Gustavo Aceves. It is on display in Rome’s evocative archaeological site which extends from the Arch of Constantine at the Colusseum’s square to Trajan’s Markets. The 40 enormous sculptures that make up Lapidarium measure from 3 to 8 metres in height and are as long as 12 metres. It is an extremely ambitious work in progress (in fieri) that possesses extraordinary dimensions and will continue to evolve throughout its world tour. Every stop will present additional pieces and the final result will count 100 different works. Countless people have been able to admire this outstanding opus since its advance exhibition in Pietrasanta in 2014 and its official inauguration at Berlin’s Brandenburg Gate in 2015, countless people have been able to admire this outstanding opus.
