THE RENAISSANCE IN ROME
The Renaissance in Rome (“Il Rinascimento a Roma”) exhibition explores and takes an in-depth look at all the artistic, architectural and town planning aspects of 16th century Rome. Organised and presented by Maria Grazia Bernardini and Marco Bussagli, the exhibit is divided into seven sections which document the artistic course of the sixteenth century through the transition from the outstanding and superb skills of the masters of the High Renaissance (still pervaded with Humanistic culture) to an art that was strongly influenced by the new and engrossing religious spirituality. Masterpieces by Raffaello such as his “Self-Portrait” and the “Portrait of Fedra Inghirami” will be on display.
