CHAGALL. LOVE AND LIFE
The international exhibit dedicated entirely to the Russian-Jewish artist Marc Chagall is now in Rome at the Chiostro del Bramante. Produced and organised by Dart, the Chiostro del Bramante and the Arthemisia Group, it is open to the public from 16 March to 26 July 2015. Over 140 works including paintings, drawings and prints from the Israel Museum in Jerusalem tell of the unique bond between the great painter and his wife Bella Rosenfeld, his essential and constant source of inspiration and link Chagall’s life directly to his work. From images of his childhood and youth in his native Vitebsk to the illustrations published in his autobiography “My Life” and the books written by Bella – “First Encounter” and “Burning Lights” – the exhibit traces the entire life of Chagall through an iconographic and iconological treasure that fully explores his art up to his more mature works.
